Most comparisons put every voice-AI company in one list. They do different jobs, and knowing which is which is the fastest way to work out what you actually need to buy.
Speech & model providers
Speech-to-text, text-to-speech and language models. They supply the raw capability an agent reasons and speaks with. They do not place or receive calls.
Voice AI platforms
Conversational agents, reasoning and workflow. They build what the caller talks to, then rent telephony underneath from someone else.
Regional AI specialists
Language, accent and domain models built for specific markets — African languages, local accents, sector-specific speech. Deep in the model, not in the network.
AI Voice infrastructure
The path the call actually travels: carrier interconnects, SIP, numbers, PBX, routing, recording, CLI compliance. Telroi owns this layer in Africa, the GCC, Asia and LATAM, and stays model-agnostic above it.

Capability entries reflect what each category of provider publishes in its own product documentation, reviewed August 2026. Individual providers differ, and several offer capabilities outside their primary category through partners.
Nothing here is a performance benchmark, and no provider has been scored or ranked. Companies are named to identify a category, not to disparage them — several are providers we integrate with or route traffic for.
